About the Role
We are seeking a commercially minded Mid-Level CRO UX Lead to play a pivotal role in our agency. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about understanding user behaviour, optimising digital experiences, and driving tangible business results.
You will work directly with a variety of clients, leading CRO and UX initiatives from strategy to implementation. A key aspect of this role will be contributing to the development and growth of our CRO and UX department, refining our offering, and establishing best practices. You will also be instrumental in shaping our approach to Search Experience, ensuring that our strategies not only attract users but also convert them effectively.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on execution, strong client communication skills, and a keen business acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership:
- Act as the primary CRO/UX point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business objectives.
- Lead client workshops, presentations, and regular reporting sessions, effectively communicating insights, recommendations, and results.
- Translate client business goals into actionable CRO and UX strategies.
Strategy & Optimisation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive CRO strategies based on data analysis (analytics, heatmaps, session recordings), user research (surveys, interviews), and heuristic evaluations.
- Design and execute A/B tests, multivariate tests, and other experimentation methodologies to validate hypotheses and drive improvements.
- Analyse test results, derive actionable insights, and provide clear recommendations for further optimisation.
- Champion a data-driven approach to all UX and CRO initiatives.
User Experience (UX) Design & Research:
- Conduct user research (e.g., usability testing, user interviews, card sorting) to uncover user needs, pain points, and behaviours.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that enhance usability and conversion.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure UX best practices are integrated throughout the client's digital assets.
Search Experience (SX) Focus:
- Develop and refine our agency's approach to Search Experience, understanding how search behaviour impacts user journeys and conversion.
- Identify opportunities to optimise on-site search, navigation, and content presentation to improve user satisfaction and conversion rates from search entry points.
- Collaborate with SEO and content teams to ensure a seamless and effective user experience from search query to conversion.
Department Development:
- Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the agency's CRO and UX methodologies, processes, and tools.
- Help build out the CRO/UX offering, identifying new service opportunities and staying abreast of industry trends.
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Commercial Acumen:
- Identify opportunities for account growth and new business within the CRO/UX domain.
- Assist in scoping projects, preparing proposals, and estimating effort for new and existing clients.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 3+ years of experience in a dedicated CRO or UX role, ideally within an agency environment.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in conversion rates and user satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of CRO principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency with A/B testing tools (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Google Optimise).
- Expertise in web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics) with the ability to extract actionable insights.
- Experience with user research methodologies (e.g., usability testing, interviews, surveys).
- Familiarity with UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) for wireframing and prototyping.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and ability to link CRO/UX efforts to business outcomes.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable:
- Experience specifically with Search Experience optimisation.
- Understanding of qualitative research tools (e.g., Hotjar, Crazy Egg, FullStory).
- Knowledge of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) sufficient to understand implementation challenges.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms.
- Relevant certifications in CRO, UX, or analytics.
