Overview
A leading digital agency is seeking a Marketplace Account Manager to oversee a portfolio of small to medium-sized marketplace clients. This role is responsible for day-to-day client management, the development and execution of marketplace strategies, and overall performance delivery across key channels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate broad marketplace expertise, a developing commercial mindset, and a strong commitment to both client success and internal team development. This position also involves managing and supporting the progression of Marketplace Account Executives.
Role Objectives

Client Ownership: Each client has a dedicated account owner responsible for performance outcomes, client satisfaction, and fee growth.

Delivery Excellence: Projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a consistently high standard. Issues are identified and addressed proactively, with clear communication throughout.

Commercial Acumen: The Marketplace Account Manager will identify revenue growth opportunities, potential risks, and signs of client dissatisfaction early.

Leadership: In addition to people management responsibilities, the role requires mentoring and supporting more junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management

Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of marketplace clients

Lead client communications and coordinate internal team efforts to deliver excellent service

Monitor account performance and address any issues proactively, escalating to leadership where appropriate

Build and maintain strong client relationships
Content, Operations & Advertising

Develop and gain approval for content strategy enhancements, including fee justification

Oversee and contribute to content production tasks, including image and video editing when required

Conduct regular performance reviews and ensure compliance with platform policies
-
Recommend operational improvements for enhanced marketplace success

Develop advertising strategies across relevant marketplace platforms using tools such as Pacvue and Helium10

Advise clients on advertising best practices and ensure sufficient budget allocation for effective campaigns
Reporting & Insights

Ensure timely delivery of clear, actionable reporting that highlights performance and the agency’s value

Actively seek client feedback to improve reporting structures and align with goals

Ensure reporting requests are relevant and efficient from both a client and agency perspective

Share insights internally to inform broader trends and support marketing or PR activity
Team & Internal Contribution

Manage and support the development of Marketplace Account Executives and Senior Executives

Contribute to internal growth initiatives such as marketing, events, and proposition development

Mentor junior colleagues and foster a collaborative team environment

Ensure accurate time tracking and project logging in line with internal deadlines
