The Media Planning Manager for Google Consumer Apps will work across digital brand campaigns focused on driving toward the business goals of the Google brand. The role focuses specifically on digital planning and experience in this field is crucial. They are responsible for working hand-in-hand with Activation to ensure client budgets are used optimally via effective planning, in-flight cross-channel optimizations and insightful post-campaign analysis to inform future campaigns. They support senior team members in the day-to-day management of media plans and their proper implementation, working to fulfill agreed media objectives in the context of changing market conditions. They demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the overall media landscape and available research, using these to inform planning recommendations.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Support the Business Director in developing tactical plans and managing tasks within the team, working more independently on smaller campaigns and liaising closely on larger projects.
  • Own the delivery of digital campaigns from briefing through to the end of campaign reporting. 
  • Conduct audience research to determine and support planning recommendations, should be comfortable working with GWI and Comscore. 
  • Allocate budget appropriately between channels.
  • Ensure previous campaign learnings, and channel best practices are rolled out. 
  • Build clear briefs for Activation and contribute to collaborative sessions
  • Evaluate responses from the Activation team including forecasts, working with them to finalize channel and publisher selections, and budgets.
  • Own the overall plan (as shared with clients) and the Olive plan.
  • Work closely with Analytics to build tailored measurement plans.
  • Develop strong relationships with our clients and become the lead contact for all campaigns.
  • Create and manage cross-channel reporting during the campaign.
  • Collate and develop insights and recommendations based on campaign performance.
  • Take responsibility for the collaboration and delivery of creative specs.
  • Meet with relevant vendors and have a relevant point of view on their offering.
  • Contribute to case studies that can be shared internally as learning and best practice.
  • Train and manage your direct report to deliver high-quality output.

Skills:
 

  • Experience in planning across digital channels 
  • Understanding of industry-standard media research tools (e.g. Comscore, GWI, TGI, YouGov).
  • Basic spreadsheet capability (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table) is a must.
  • Superior presentation design skills, in slides or document format.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, with the desire to learn and advance.
  • Excellent organizational skills, close attention to detail, and ability to quality control work.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Superb client relationship and management skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Skilled in quantitative reasoning
