Paid Search Account Director
London (hybrid, 1 day a week in the office) | Competitive salary + equity
I'm working with one of the UK's most awarded paid search and data agencies to find an Account Director to lead teams on their biggest clients.
They've been named best PPC agency in Europe and are in the FT 1000, and they've grown quickly on the back of referrals and very high client retention. What sets them apart is that data scientists and engineers sit alongside the search team, so you'll work with custom tech, first-party data and proper measurement, not just in the platforms.
The role
This is a team leadership role first and a paid search role second. You'll lead a pod of 2–5 people on major e-com, travel and B2B accounts, and you'll own how the team works:
- Set the client roadmap and keep the team working to it, rather than reacting to every request
- Delegate with context, so the people around you build their own judgement
- Plan the team's time against the retainer and keep workloads sustainable
- Explain priorities and trade-offs to clients clearly and calmly
- Work with the social, data and creative teams on shared plans
- Line manage and develop Account Managers
What you'll bring
- Agency experience leading paid search client teams, ideally including line management
- A solid grounding in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, across Search, Shopping, PMax and Demand Gen
- Comfort with numbers and measurement: you connect metrics to levers and explain the "why"
- Real examples of keeping a team organised, motivated and delivering well under pressure
- Curiosity about data, automation and AI in search
What's on offer
- Competitive salary (strong Senior Account Managers and Senior Account Directors are also welcome)
- Equity through an EMI options scheme
- 28 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and a 5-week paid sabbatical after 5 years
- Wellness and learning allowances, plus 2 paid volunteering days
- 1 day a week in a London Bridge office, the rest remote
