Freelance Marketing Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer | Outside IR35
£450 p.d Outside IR35 | 1x day on-site in Farringdon | 2 month initial project | Part time OR Full time
I'm working with an agency client who is looking for a freelance Marketing Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join them for an initial 2-month contract, with strong potential to extend.
This is not a reporting or dashboard-only role.
They're looking for someone with a solid technical understanding of how marketing data is collected, transformed, tested and modelled before it reaches the reporting layer.
You'll be hands-on with building and maintaining marketing data infrastructure, improving data quality, and helping turn complex datasets into actionable commercial insights.
Key experience required:
- Strong SQL
- GA4
- dbt
- Airbyte (or similar ELT tools)
- Data pipelines and transformation
- Marketing data modelling
- Data quality testing and validation
- Attribution and marketing measurement
- Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) or similar statistical modelling experience
- Looker Studio, Power BI or similar BI tools
The client is looking for someone who understands the fundamentals behind the tools they use, not just how to operate them. You'll be confident explaining how data flows through modern marketing stacks and have hands-on experience building robust analytics solutions.
