Head of Grocery Partnerships

Our client is a fast-growing, purpose-led consumer platform with millions of highly engaged members and a strong presence across everyday spend categories. As the business enters its next phase of growth, Grocery has emerged as one of its most strategic and complex opportunities.

This role offers the chance to build, shape and scale a Grocery proposition from the ground up - working across retailers, FMCG brands and internal teams to unlock new commercial routes to market.

 

The Opportunity

Join a mission-driven organisation where Grocery is a priority growth vertical, but one that requires a different approach to traditional affiliate or retail partnerships.

You’ll act as the end-to-end commercial owner of Grocery, responsible for:

  • Defining the category strategy
  • Creating new partnership models
  • Delivering sustainable revenue and margin growth

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role suited to someone who enjoys ambiguity, problem-solving and building propositions that don’t yet exist.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Category & Commercial Ownership

  • Own the Grocery strategy, including annual and quarterly planning, revenue and margin forecasting
  • Track performance, identify gaps, and course-correct where needed
  • Take full accountability for the commercial success of the category

Partnerships & Proposition Building

  • Lead a portfolio of grocery retailers and FMCG/CPG partners
  • Co-create new partnership models (e.g. FMCG-funded activity, loyalty-linked propositions, marketplace-style mechanics)
  • Explore and build new routes to market, working with external partners and technology providers

Negotiation & Governance

  • Structure and negotiate complex, multi-stakeholder agreements
  • Run governance rhythms such as QBRs and performance reviews
  • Improve partner outcomes through test-and-learn roadmaps

Cross-Functional Delivery

  • Work closely with Product, Marketing, CRM, Data and Retail Media teams
  • Translate partner needs into executable propositions and campaigns
  • Help define technical, data and operational requirements to bring new ideas to life

 

Your Background

We’re deliberately open on background, but you’re likely to bring experience from one or more of the following:

  • Grocery marketplaces or delivery platforms (grocery verticals)
  • Retail media or loyalty ecosystems
  • FMCG-funded partnership or commercial innovation roles
  • Platforms where you’ve built and launched new propositions

More important than industry labels is mindset:

  • You’ve built, not just managed
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and influence without authority
  • You have a strong owner’s mentality and commercial judgement
