Paid Media Analyst - Hybrid 3 Days - Upto £55,000
The Role
We’re looking for a Paid Media Analyst with a strong analytical and technical foundation, ideally from a computer science, engineering, mathematics, or similar quantitative background.
This role sits at the intersection of marketing data, experimentation, and applied analytics, and is designed as a bridge towards a career in data science or advanced analytics. You’ll use paid media data as a rich, real-world dataset to develop advanced skills in SQL, Python, automation, and experimentation, while working closely with paid search specialists, data science, and commercial teams.

They're a global travel aggregator (think like Skyscanner or Trainline) whose annual revenue exceeds £300M and they operate 4,000 routes across 95 countries, so if you want to play with a vast and complex data this is for you.
The day to day:

Analyse large, complex datasets from Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and related platforms to identify performance drivers and optimisation opportunities.

Use SQL to query and combine paid media data with internal datasets (e.g. revenue, margins, customer behaviour).

Apply Python for data analysis, automation, and experimentation (e.g. performance modelling, anomaly detection, data pipelines, testing frameworks).

Design, execute, and evaluate structured experimentation programmes, including A/B testing, incrementality testing, and causal inference.

Develop analytical frameworks to evaluate bid strategies, automation features, and AI-driven campaign types.

Build scalable reporting and self-serve dashboards using Looker Studio or other BI tools, underpinned by robust data models.

Partner closely with paid search specialists to translate analytical insight into practical campaign and budget decisions.

Conduct competitor and market analysis using Auction Insights, SERP analysis, and landing page benchmarking.

Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual processes using scripts, APIs, and data pipelines.

Collaborate with data science, analytics engineering, and commercial teams to align on data definitions, attribution, and measurement.

Act as a technical point of contact with Google, Microsoft, and external partners on measurement, experimentation, and platform capabilities.

Stay ahead of developments in analytics, attribution, privacy, and AI, proactively assessing their impact on performance and measurement.
About You

3+ years’ experience in an analytical role, ideally within digital marketing, growth, or performance analytics.

Strong academic or practical background in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Advanced analytical skills with experience working with large datasets and ambiguous problem spaces.

Strong SQL proficiency, including complex queries, joins, and aggregations across multiple data sources.

Hands-on experience using Python for data analysis (e.g. pandas, NumPy); visualisation or modelling experience is a plus.

Solid understanding of statistics, experimentation design, and performance measurement.

Working knowledge of paid search platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads), including bidding, automation, and targeting.

Experience building dashboards and data visualisations (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).

Able to clearly communicate complex analytical insights to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.

Curious, self-directed, and motivated to grow toward data science or advanced analytics roles
Nice to Have

Experience applying machine learning techniques to marketing or growth data.

Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift).

Experience analysing cross-channel attribution or running causal impact / uplift models.

Exposure to JavaScript tagging and implementation via Google Tag Manager.

Experience in the travel, marketplace, or e-commerce sector.
