Performance Marketing Lead

London (Hybrid – 3 days in office) | Permanent

Our client is one of the UK's most exciting consumer success stories, having grown from a disruptive DTC challenger into a globally recognised personal care brand.

Following its acquisition by one of the world's largest consumer goods businesses, the company is entering an ambitious new phase of international growth, combining the pace and entrepreneurial spirit of a challenger brand with the backing and resources of a global organisation.

The Opportunity

Join a high-growth, purpose-led consumer business at a pivotal point in its journey.

  • Lead the Media Buying and UGC/performance creative teams across the UK, US, Germany and France.

  • Take ownership of paid acquisition strategy across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels.

  • Play a central role in scaling a globally recognised consumer brand, with significant investment and ambitious international growth plans.

  • Combine genuine commercial and strategic ownership with the opportunity to remain close to the technical craft of performance marketing.

  • Shape how media buying, creative experimentation, measurement and AI come together to drive sustainable, profitable growth.

Responsibilities

Performance Strategy & Commercial Ownership

  • Lead the paid media strategy across multiple international markets, balancing customer acquisition, efficiency and long-term profitability.

  • Own performance against key commercial metrics including CAC, ROAS, LTV and payback.

  • Identify opportunities to scale investment, improve channel efficiency and unlock new growth opportunities.

  • Develop clear testing and optimisation frameworks across channels, audiences, creative and landing pages.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to align performance investment with wider business objectives.

Technical Performance Leadership

  • Act as the most senior technical performance marketing specialist within the business, providing direction and expertise across Meta, Google, TikTok and other acquisition platforms.

  • Remain close enough to the platforms to diagnose performance issues, challenge recommendations and identify opportunities that others may miss.

  • Oversee account structure, bidding strategies, audience development, budget allocation and campaign experimentation.

  • Challenge existing ways of working and continuously raise the standard of technical execution across the team.

  • Balance strategic leadership with a genuine understanding of what drives performance at account level.

Performance Creative & UGC

  • Lead the performance creative function, connecting media buying insights with creative strategy and production.

  • Develop a structured, data-led approach to UGC, creator content and creative experimentation.

  • Translate performance data into actionable creative hypotheses, briefs and testing priorities.

  • Build a continuous feedback loop between media buying and creative teams to improve conversion and unlock scale.

  • Champion innovative approaches to creative development, testing and iteration.

Measurement, Data & Innovation

  • Develop a sophisticated approach to attribution, incrementality and performance measurement.

  • Look beyond platform-reported results to understand the true commercial impact of acquisition investment.

  • Use data to identify growth opportunities, inform investment decisions and challenge assumptions.

  • Explore how AI and automation can improve media buying, creative development, reporting and operational efficiency.

  • Stay ahead of emerging platforms, technologies and industry developments.

People Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach and develop the Media Buying and UGC/performance creative teams, building a high-performing and collaborative function.

  • Set clear objectives, create accountability and support the development of specialists and future leaders.

  • Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, commercial thinking and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with Growth, Ecommerce, Creative, Analytics and senior leadership teams.

  • Communicate performance, opportunities and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across the business.

Your Profile

  • Significant experience in performance marketing, ideally within a fast-growing DTC, ecommerce, subscription or consumer brand.

  • Strong technical expertise across Meta and Google, with a proven track record of scaling paid acquisition profitably.

  • Experience leading and developing performance marketing teams, with the ability to challenge specialists while empowering them to deliver.

  • A strong understanding of performance creative, UGC and the relationship between creative testing and paid media effectiveness.

  • Commercially minded, with a strong grasp of CAC, ROAS, LTV, payback and customer acquisition economics.

  • Confident navigating attribution, incrementality and measurement challenges in a multi-channel environment.

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels: someone who enjoys leading people and shaping direction but hasn't lost touch with the platforms.

  • Curious about AI, automation and emerging technologies, with a practical mindset towards innovation.

  • Ambitious, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What's On Offer

  • Join a highly successful consumer brand at a genuinely exciting stage of international growth.

  • The opportunity to combine the ambition and agility of a challenger business with the resources and backing of a global organisation.

  • Significant ownership across paid acquisition, performance creative and international growth.

  • Lead and develop established specialist teams, with the autonomy to shape strategy and ways of working.

  • Work closely with senior commercial and marketing leadership, influencing meaningful investment decisions.

  • A high-impact role offering greater scale, leadership and commercial responsibility without losing the technical depth of performance marketing.
