We are working with a digital agency that is looking to appoint a Programmatic Director to strengthen its programmatic offering. This role sits within a senior digital function and is focused on providing strategic programmatic expertise to a portfolio of established clients.
The position is consultative in nature. The Programmatic Director will act as a trusted advisor, helping clients better understand how to use programmatic media effectively and how to measure its impact.
This role does not include direct line management. The scope and progression of the position will develop over time in line with business needs and individual performance.
The Role
The Programmatic Director will lead programmatic strategy across a defined client portfolio, working closely with senior internal stakeholders and client teams to shape investment decisions and measurement approaches. The role requires strong technical credibility and comfort engaging with platform detail to guide effective delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Acting as the senior programmatic subject matter expert for a portfolio of clients
- Leading programmatic strategy including channel mix, budget allocation and measurement frameworks
- Advising clients on best practice and helping them maximise the value of programmatic media
- Working closely with delivery teams to guide implementation, optimisation and reporting
- Maintaining accountability for the quality and effectiveness of programmatic output
- Supporting programmatic elements of pitches, proposals and growth conversations when required
- Keeping up to date with platform developments, industry changes and emerging opportunities
- Contributing to testing and experimentation approaches to improve learning and effectiveness
What We Are Looking For
- Strong experience in programmatic media within a digital agency, consultancy or similar environment
- High level of proficiency with DV360 is essential
- Experience across multiple DSPs is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to communicate the strategic and commercial value of programmatic media
- Confidence working with senior client stakeholders in a consultative capacity
- Comfortable leading strategy conversations with strong technical credibility
- Commercially minded, thoughtful and confident in approach
- Senior presence without the requirement for people management experience
